Oh the insanity that is my life...

I know we all have days where we think that time is just creeping by because you never seem to finish a project and then you look at the clock and it's noon!  What happened to my morning?  I know as we get closer to Oktoberfest next Friday, that this phenomenon will only occur more and more.  It's important to remember that Susan & I still have a week to get it all together before we have to be "on" for the event.

Today started out with me running late due to my terrible snooze button habit and then frantically trying to find some jewelry to go with my new blue sweater.  Of course, I wanted to wear something I hadn't in a while so I dug deep into the stash of necklaces and found a multi-toned blue stone necklace and added another silver chain to frame it out so it looked a bit more substantial.  I tend to like my jewelry to be more substantial so it doesn't get lost on my not so small frame.  Big silver hoop earrings and a silver & white bracelet completed my outfit.

What a gorgeous fall day in Fremont County...

What a beautiful fall day in Wyoming!  Sunny & warm.  Fall makes me gravitate towards browns & golds in my choices for jewelry.  I'm discovering that in my jewelry box (carefully sorted by metal color) that I have much more gold-toned jewelry than I realized.  I tend to overlook it because I have gotten in the habit of wearing mostly silver.  It's amazing what we don't see when we look at something everyday.  I know I tend to do this in areas of my life other than just my jewelry box.

Tonight when I was taking the photo of my jewelry from today (a beaded multi-toned brown seed bead necklace, silver hoop earrings, and a silver band ring), my dachshund Dazzle wanted to model for a photo.

Day 1 of my jewelry challenge...

Before the alarm clock went off this morning, I was already half-awake thinking about what jewelry to wear.  This is not my normal procedure...I usually get dressed and then choose my jewelry.  My routine is going to have to change as I go along through this challenge because I'll have to pick the jewlery and then the clothes to wear with it.

Tonight, I was IM'ing my friend John and telling him about my day and this new challenge.  His take on it?  My blog should be a metaphor for the "Jewelry Box of Life".  I like his idea...he's a pretty smart guy!  Must be one of the many reasons I like him!
Here's my jewelry choices for today:  gold chain bracelet & gold hoop earrings, an old necklace in greens, blacks & gold that was in a "lot" of vintage jewelry I bought on ebay several years ago, and a pin that was my mother's.  I'm sure she bought it in the 60's when she was first teaching school.

A glimpse into my varied stash of jewelry...

My friend Dawn has issued a challenge to me...for me to wear all the pieces of jewelry I've collected over the years.  The catch is...I have to wear everything once before I can wear any piece again.  Hmmm...I reallize I have a lot of jewelry but I am thinking I might get to buy some more jewelry pieces so I can actually make it a full 365 days! :)
