Only 25 days until Christmas....

I had to throw out the countdown for Tracy (she usually starts it in March!)

I came home today at lunch to two boxes from Initial Outfitters...one with the acrylic pitcher I'd ordered and one with new catalogs, three new bags, and two pieces of new jewelry!  Can't wait to wear them on Thursday for the party at Debbie's.

Today's jewelry choices were a thin silver cuff I found in the bottom of the jewelry box (when I was looking for some of my Christmas jewelry), some silver square hoop earrings and a faux pearl torsade necklace.

Another Manic Monday!

Homemade hot chocolate, watching Mike & Molly (pretty danged funny), working on some paperwork for my new business, and snuggling with the dynamic dachshund, Dazzle. What more could a gal ask for on a Monday night?

Had a great conference call for Initial Outfitters tonight...its so much fun to be part of something that is so positive.

I'm watching Lucy the silly basset lay on the floor on her back with both ears out to the side, her lip curled in a smile...she has a great lovable personality and makes me smile everyday.

The gold jewelry I picked out to wear today were pieces I hadn't worn in a long time...think I've only worn the necklace once or twice since I got it. The bracelet has seen more wearings than the necklace and earrings.

Last Sunday in November...

Where did November go?  I can't believe how quickly time goes by...you look up and a month is gone! My first month in my new business has been great fun!  This weekend wasn't terribly productive but hopefullly the many business cards, flyers, & catalogs passed out to folks will be fruitful in the future.

I have a busy week planned for the next 7 days...a dental appt, a sorority meeting, four Initial Outfitters parties, and pictures with Santa!  I think I might need a day off next week! :)

I wore the blue glass pendant today (thanks for helping me pick it out today Pamela) along with my silver flower watch & the hammered swirl silver earrings from the catalog!  Love the earrings!!! They are big but lightweight.

Slow Saturday at the Bazaar

Today was a slow day traffic-wise at the bazaar.  We managed to entertain ourselves...Pamela, Darcy, Tessa, Dan, Judy & I told stories, laughed, and joked.  Some of us even sold some things. :)

I sorted through the jewelry on my table this morning to pick a copper necklace.  It complimented my copper watch with the turquoise band and copper earrings.

Black Friday

I spent Black Friday at the Old Blackhawk Security building at the "After Thanksgiving Bazaar". It was a day full of lookers and passing out my contact information/catalogs/etc. Hopefully the new contacts will result in some new business as well.

Today's jewelry choices included silver circle hoop earrings, my silver & clear beaded watch, & silver/black monogrammed pendant.

Lots to be thankful for today....

Today is a day to count your blessings big and small.  I have so many things to be thankful for...family, friends, a great house to call home, a rewarding job (or 6), my four-legged kids, our service men & women, and this great country I live in.  What more could a gal ask for?

Char & I won the "hand & foot" game at Aunt M's after dinner.  Crystal & Aunt M made a valiant effort but the cards fell our way.  I hadn't played H&F for quite a while and had forgotten how fun it is.

Cold & windy....

Cold & windy was the name of the game today!  Holy cow!  I can't believe how cold the wind was tonight!  BRRRR...but I LOVE LOVE LOVE my new electric blanket!  :)  Works great!

The necklace I wore today got lots of compliments today...the guy working the counter at the post office even commented on it.  The bracelet is one I picked up at the street market in Boston and I happened to have earrings in the jewelry box that matched this necklace from my sales samples.

Busy Tuesday...

For a vacation day, I managed to fit a TON of stuff into my day...closed two parties, spent some time at WWPS, and did several loads of laundry!

Monday & Friday all in one...

Today was Monday & Friday all in one...a short work week due to the holiday and an extra day of vacation.  Susan got the three day weekend this year and I got the long holiday...just opposit of last year.  It works great when everyone can work together and give & take...

Tonight I got to enjoy the company of some very funny & interesting women at the Initial Outfitters party hosted for me by Darlene.  Darlene's home is beautiful and it was a wonderfully refreshing evening.  Thanks Darlene!  I picked jewelry out of my samples today to wear...a copper cuff, copper necklace on a black cord and copper earrings...

Sunday the 21st...

Had a very productive day today...went to breakfast at the casino with Cindy & friends, closed my first party hosted by Tara, and managed a trip to the grocery store!  Looking forward to a short week at work (all of one day!)

Gold & silver combos were the flavor of the day...

Great time tonight at Kelly's!

I got to spend a terrifc day with my friends...from a quick trip to Rock Springs and back this morning with Becky to get her new truck to a fun party tonight at Kelly's! Lots of neat ladies doing some shopping...some chatting...and of course some eating! Kelly made the BEST caramel apple cake...could have eaten two pieces!

Thanks for hosting such a successful party for me tonight Kelly! I had a great time showing off the new line of products and everyone had a good time trying on the jewelry. I modeled a silver cuff, silver tear drop earrings, a black beaded necklace with silver monogramed pendant.

TGIF!

It was a busy and productive week but I am super glad that it is Friday!!  Dawn, Grace & I went to the two craft fairs at the fair grounds tonight and then out for a girls dinner...Grace told us "I could go for some Chinese" so that's where we went!  I love the Oriental Palace's teriyaki chicken!  YUMMY!!

There were so many neat things at the craft fairs...I wish I could buy something at each booth.  What talented people we have in our community!

Today's choice in "bling" was my multi-stranded coral necklace with a black beaded necklace and hammered silver pendant.  My bracelet is a braided silver one I purchased several years ago...it has multi-toned metal hearts along the bracelet.  I haven't worn it much lately but wore it often when I first purchased it.

Envelopes and more envelopes....

Today was a day full of folding letters and stuffing envelope after envelope after envelope of letters for the Foundation's annual mailing!   It's a great project but man it seems to go on and on and on! :)

Today's jewelry choice was a monogramed silver pendant on a multi-colored and multi-stranded purple beaded necklace I've had in my jewelry box for a long time.  It was nice to dig it out and combine it with one of my new pendants.  The silver tear drop earrings are also in the new line of jewelry and are super cute and while they are substantial they are not heavy.

Wild Wednesday!

It was a wonderful Wednesday...had a fun party at my friend Pamela's.  It was a relaxed evening following a busy day!  I got to show off the chocolate pearls with one of the pendants I've had in my jewelry collection for a long time...it worked great because the bail is on a hinge so it fit over the larger pearls.  The silver cuff (looks coppery here) went well with the brown dangly beaded earrings from my collection.  Mixing old with new...

Stormy November Day...

It's raining...it's snowing...it's blowing...oh wait...the sun's shining! Typical fall storm blowing through today. It couldn't decide what to do here in Fremont County...kind of like me at work today. Tons to do but having a hard time concentrating on any ONE task. I did manage to complete several things today but it sure felt like I was just spinning circles.

I'm working to wear all my new jewelry and managed three pieces today...necklace, earrings, & bracelet. Tomorrow I think I'll pair something old and something new so I can show at Pamela's party how to pair new pieces with something you might already have in your jewelry wardrobe (and YES I realize not everyone has the stash that I have to mix and match with) :)

Big big earrings...

Today was a day for BIG OL earrings!   I love this pair of big, dangly wooden earrings.  They are kind of "gypsy-ish"

What a great day!

It was a wonderful day today!  A good open-house at Wild West, my first Initial Outfitters show at my good friend Tara's house, and the Fremont County Fair Royalty Coronation party.  The party was a terrific experience for me and I think all in attendance had fun shopping, visiting, and shopping some more!  Thanks ladies!

I'm going to have to put a "rider" on my pledge to not have any repeat wearings of my jewelry until I get through it all.  I'll keep my original pledge regarding the jewelry I had before I started this new business venture but I'm going to have to break the rules regarding the jewelry I am selling...I'll need to wear it as advertisement.  It'll be a mixed bag of jewelry from here on out!  I promise not to wear the same combination of jewelry the rest of the year.

I love the new chocolate copper pieces I modeled today.  It's so pretty!

Purple passion...

Today was all about purple!  My multi-toned purple sweater paired with my new silver & purple necklace and earrings.

Today also marked the day when the items for my new Initial Outfitters business arrived at my house...it was like Christmas early in my living room tonight!  Sorting & tagging items with item numbers, learning where the items are in the catalog, etc.  Busy night getting packed and ready for my first show on Saturday.

Veteran's Day 2010

Thank you so much to our veteran's and current service men & women.  Without their sacrifices, the lifestyle we have would not be possible.  Freedom isn't free...thank you for paying the bill for all of us!

At our annual scholarship reception tonight, we honored not only all of our scholarship recipients and donors but especially our student veterans and those veterans who generously give their time and funds for the benefit of those scholarship recipients.  It was a wonderfully evening...emotional in a good way!  I chose a patriotically themed outfit today...red sweater, navy slacks & cami, white beaded necklace, blue star pin, and a gold bracelet.  The white beaded necklace is my "Wilma Flinstone" necklace, the blue star pin is symbolic for the Blue Star Memorial Marker project undertaken by National Garden Club, and the gold bracelet I purchased in Great Falls, MT at the Charles M. Russell Museum store.

Stone & metal...

My creative juices have stopped flowing tonight...nothing clever to say tonight.  This has been a week of meetings and committments every night..my brain is in shut down mode tonight.

The two necklaces I wore today were new...a combination of metals and stone pieces in the shorter one and hammered metal links in the longer one.  The earrings are ones that I have worn alot and have a matching pair in gunmetal finish (gifts from Mom).

Friendship is a Lifesaver...

This was the theme of our Beta Sigma Phi fall ritual event tonight.  My "sisters" are a huge part of my life and I'm certainly thankful for their friendship!  We come from a variety of backgrounds, ages, marital status, etc. but yet we have so much in common.

I think fall is starting to give way to winter...we got the first snow of the season today.  Not much accumulation but a little bit of moisture, cold wind, blustery day.  I'm ready for the change and actually enjoy winter weather (until about February that is...then I'm over it).

The necklace I wore today was one I purchased in Houston a few years ago at Thanksgiving.  It was 70 degrees, the roses were blooming, and people had on sweaters and coats.  It was just odd--sweaters and coats at 70 degrees and Christmas tunes.

Last day of unseasonably warm weather...

I think today may have been one of the last really nice days of fall (and it really was only nice until about noon).  When I was deciding on what to wear as I lay in bed listening to the morning weather report at 6:20 or so...I remembered a black & white animal print jacked I'd purchased on clearance this summer and hadn't worn yet so that was my pick for today.  I paired it with a pendant that I purchased on my National Garden Club trip to Atlanta this past May and one of my gold-toned omega necklaces.  I hadn't worn this particular piece of jewlery since purchasing it...I loved it in Atlanta and then got it home and thought "What am I going to wear this with?" and into the jewelry box it went.

I have a couple of other pieces from the same lady who did the wire-wrapping on this one--those pieces I purchased in Houston at NGC meeting in 2009.  Can't wait to see what she might have in DC next May! :)

18 already??

18 already?? Was the question I was asking Tracy's oldest son today at the BBQ she hosted for his 18th birthday. It was a gorgeous November day...rare in the fact that it was warm enough to cook and eat outside. I can't believe JD is old enough to vote in the special county commissioner elections coming up in a week or so. It doesn't seem like that long ago, he was this adorable red-headed little boy...now he's a handsome 6' young man.

Hip to be square...

After yesterday's square necklace and bracelet, I found myself reaching for a new necklace I picked up that has a square pendant on it too.  My layered square metal earrings were a birthday gift from my good friend Becky a couple of years ago.

I think I'll have to work on not picking any pieces with squares in them tomorrow.  I'd hate for people to accuse me of being square.

Coppery Friday

There's something about the warmth of copper that calls me to wear alot of it during the fall.  Today's long necklace is one that I purchased when I worked at RHS...the charms on it are starting to show some wear and tear but it still looks pretty good.  The shorter necklace is one I made from some copper chain and some blue, mottled square beads I picked up in Jackson a couple of summers ago.  I used the same square & rectangle beads to make a matching bracelet.  The earrings are some I picked up in Billings on a shopping trip with Mom.

Handcrafted & commercial meld...

The jewelry I had on today was a mix of items I've made and items I've purchased meshed together for a coordinated look.

The pendant I wore is a pink jade piece that I wire-wrapped in the first wire wrapping class at Rock Solid. Dawn & I took two classes down there and the pendant was the first project and the tiger-eye and coppper bracelet was the 2nd project at the 2nd class. If you have an opportunity to take a class and learn a new skill, you should definately give it a try. It's even more fun when you can do it with one of your friends.

The long brown beaded necklace and amber beaded earrings were both clearance purchases that have gotten lots of use and were certainly good buys and economical additions to my stash.

Mud Hen Social...

Tonight I spent my social time with two of my "Mud Hen" friends...Barb & Shirley. We got the name from another garden club member's husband...we were out working in the rain at the airport and were muddy and wet. When we came into the restaurant for coffee, he was there with his buddies and commented to us about a muddy hen party....the name stuck! What fun we've had doing various things together--from gardening to gossiping!

The jewelry choice today was another of my pearl (faux-pearl) necklaces, freshwater pearl earrings I made a year or so ago, and a Premier Designs silver & pearl bracelet. I hadn't realized until I started on this challenge how many pearl & silver combinations I had in my jewelry stash! I have several more to go!

Election Day...

I'm excited that the voter turn out was high today.  Glad that CWC's bond issue passed but disappointed that the school district's attempt at finishing the stadium was defeated.  Enough about politics...that always makes for a bad topic among friends.

I was feeling a bit "wild" this morning and picked a necklace with some animal print beads, earrings in a brown/coppery tone and a copper cuff bracelet I bought in Jackson a couple of summers ago at a great little shop called Wild Hands.  Can't wait to go back each time and see what they have to offer!

Leaves, leaves, leaves....

I am struggling with the fact that it's November already!  Wow!  Just seems like yesterday (and it was about March 1st) when Tracy started the "Only ## of days untl Christmas" annual campaign!

Today's necklace was one I purchased when I first started working at the school full-time and was starting to build what would become "Lynette's Jewelry" collection.  It's metal leaves in layers forming the necklace.  I love how it looks on but I remembered about an hour into wearing it today why I used to only wear it with a turtleneck sweater!  It's pokey...looks great but isn't always the most comfortable piece to wear.  Good thing I can pass it on to someone else to wear during the next 12 months until I can wear it again...Susan will be sporting the necklace sometime soon I'm sure.

The brown leaves looked nice with my olive green sweaters today and the multi-toned green bracelet and green sparkly earrings.
