A few of my favorite things...

Tonight at our Beta Sigma Phi sorority meeting, we were discussing our favorite things about belonging to the group!  It hit me when Susan said she loved XiPi because she could truly be "Just Susan" there, that I liked that as well but one of my favorite parts about my sorority sisters is that my girl friends are like the jewelry I love.  The right jewelry and accessories complete an outfit and can completely change the look of something...so can my girl friends!  My "girls" complete me...not just my Xi Pi sisters but all of my friends.  Ladies, thanks for being the perfect "accessories" to help complete me and make me the woman that I am!  You are all loved and appreciated for the role you play in my life and I'm ever so grateful that you are a part of my world!

On a less sentimental note, I wanted to share that I've found a new favorite, go-to pair of fun earrings!  They are pretty, flirty, and light-weight...I will be wearing them a lot!!!!  Still loving the "initial" pendant and my new diamond-cuff with my name on it!

Free Jewelry Friday!

Free Jewelry?
What?

Yep...today's jewelry selection was courtesy of the prize I won for the Initial Outfitter's Sizzling Summer sales contest!  LOVE my new necklace/earring set and bracelet!  The other necklace is also an Initial Outfitter's piece but it wasn't part of my prize!  I had to work really hard this summer to hit the goals for this contest and was one of only 9 in the company who did it!  Thank you to all my customers and to my team members who also played a big role in my success!  Now I have my sights set on the cruise to Key West and Mexico in June!  Can't wait!

I'm back...

I don't really know how I got derailed in my posting...I actually enjoy doing it but got out of the habit last spring!  It's my intention to continue on with my nutty jewelry habit so I'll just have to continue sharing it with you all!

Today was our annual audit report to the foundation's board of directors...I know it's going to go well but it never fails to make me just a little nervous!  On days like this I like to pick an outfit that is easy, comfortable, professional and looks good!  The jewelry I picked was the same...easy, comfortable and professional!  A hammered silver ring with my initial on it, my FAVORITE silver chain bracelet (I missed the bracelet during the first part of this challenge but have decided it can go with other new pieces...I could almost wear it everyday I love it that much), silver hoop earrings and a great new necklace that I just got from Initial Outfitters!  Love it too!  Here's a picture of it on...perfect with the red top and black jacket today.

Back at it...

I've been a bad bad blogger lately...was gone for work and for garden club quite a bit, got out of the habit and was running out of new jewelry!  But...I'm back!

Last night was our annual XiPi birthday party and my "Secret Sister" did a great job of picking out a GREAT necklace for me as a gift...so...Thank you S.S.!  You ROCK!!!

Chilly Saturday in May

I was very thankful that I didn't have to be outside in the cold (high of 45 degrees and rainy/windy) at the 1A/2A Regional Track meet today in Lander...instead I got to spend the day at the "Pink Ribbon Society" benefit craft/vendor show.  Lots of people came through to see what was offered!

My choice of necklace was our 5-strand necklace and earrings...great necklace in turquoise/greens.  Lots of compliments on the piece were received today!

Friday the 13th!

Not a scary day at all!  Glad I'm not overly suspicious...I had a wonderfully productive day but no jewelry to report on today...just wore a watch.  Didn't realize until I got home tonight that I didn't even put on earrings!

Pearls & chips of stone

The necklace & earrings I chose today was a combination of pearls and chips of a variety of colored stones...LOVE LOVE LOVE it!  (Another great piece from Initial Outfitters)

"S" on my chest

There are days when you feel like you need an "S" on your chest to be able to complete all of the tasks you have to do in that day...today was one of those days!  So...I dug around in my I/O jewelry boxes and found my "S" shaped pendant and matching earrings!  Love, love, love this pendant!

All in all, it was a pretty productive day.  Got through part of the stack on my desk, delivered a backordered jewelry order, laughed some, talked to a potential hostess, notarized some documents at Wild West, and participated in a fun and productive XiPi meeting!  Just wait until our new fundraiser for the summer....it'll be loads of fun!

May 9, 2011--maybe I'll get caught up!

I've been neglectful of my promise to Dawn to blog about what jewelry I've been wearing!  I'll do better from here on out!  Had a great trip to the east coast last two weeks ago for work (and of course a little bit of fun intermixed in there).

I've been experimenting with the new jewelry line we have out from Initial Outfitters for this spring and the necklace & earrings I wore today are part of that line...wood beads offset by crystal beads.  A fun combination of materials.

Pretty Spring Day...not very warm but...

the promise of warmer spring weather is on the horizon!  I can't wait to whine about how hot it is this summer!

I picked a new necklace and earring set that was a bright pop of color against my gray and black outfit today.  All pieces of jewelry I wore today are new pieces from the spring Initial Outfitters catalog.  The ring is one I've been eyeballing for a while (can't wait to get the matching bracelet).

well...behind as usual...

I'm behind in my posting...imagine that...I will go back and get caught up as best as I can for the last week or so.

Today I got to wear one of the brand new pieces from the new spring catalog from Initial Outfitters.  LOVE LOVE LOVE it!  Dawn borrowed the bracelets I was wearing...think she wants to keep them! :)

Three sisters....

This is the Three-Sisters pin I received as a gift for Christmas several years ago.  Sometimes it's nice to get to feel close to my sisters even though we don't live close together anymore.

Carla's now the owner of this necklace...those of you in No.Dak be on the look out for it!

Buggy necklace....

Today's necklace choice was a combination of a glass pearl necklace I made a couple of years ago and a dragonfly pendant/pin that was a gift from my friend Olivia when I bought this house.  I love the coil bracelet that matches the necklace but the end of it caught in my sweater several times...that didn't make me happy.

Had a great time tonight at dinner with my good friends...is there any better way to spend an evening than with good friends and good food?  Thanks for a fun time tonight Mary, Amy, Melanie, and Bert!

April Fool's Day...

It was a very uneventful April Fool's Day in my world...thank heavens!

I picked out a pendant from my collection of Initial Outfitters Jewelry today that I've never worn...I was never really sure what to do with it.  I paired it with a long chain and turquoise bead necklace...the blues matched almost exactly.  Several people commented on the pairing...think it's a keeper!

Forks...cirlces....crystals

I know these three things don't sound like they should be related at all but in my jewelry collection they are! :)  I have a great bangle made out of a fork (yes...I mean a fork from your kitchen drawer) and I wore it today.  I LOVE this piece and am ready to order another one from the artist who made it.  If you're interested in his website, send me a note and I'll send you the link.  He makes great things from recycled, regular household items.  I have several of the pieces on my wish list!

The necklace is one I picked up at a Premier party and it had three chains on it...I wanted to be able to wear it in different ways so I took one of the chains off...added a lobster claw clasp to each end...and WALLAH!  a "new necklace" that I could wear with either one long strand and frame a shorter necklace, two strands (like I did today) or all three strands together!

The earrings are from a "lot" I bought on e-bay several years ago...have given lots of the the earrings away but kept a few...these I hadn't ever worn but they are great so I'm sure I'll be wearing them more often (well...after this challenge is over anyway).

Windy Wednesday!

Holy moly!  I can't believe the wind we had this afternoon!  If I didn't know better, I would have thought Riverton got moved down near Cheyenne!  Wow!

I went a little retro with my jewelry today...an enamel pin from the 60's (used to be Mom's) pinned to a mixed chain necklace from Initial Outfitters, big silver teardrop earrings from I/O, and a pretty spring-like scarf along with a hammered silver cuff bracelet.  Lots of compliments on my necklace...even from some young men who attend CWC (and they hardly ever notice stuff like that).

Beautiful spring day!

It was a gorgeous day today...I didn't want to be inside at work.  Would much rather have been outside enjoying the sunshine. At lunch, I even opened the sunroof for a bit--was a little chilly driving down the street but the sun sure felt good.

So far behind, I think I'm ahead!

I'm very far behind in my posting on this blog! I'm going to just go back and post the pictures that I managed to take on those days.

Last week, I made a trip to North Dakota to see my sister and her wonderful family! I had a GREAT time with my niece & nephew and my baby sister. I miss them so much!

Today's jewelry is a turquoise & silver set that I believe is an Avon piece. Haven't worn it in a while...Mom really liked it today so I think it'll go to her house for permanent residence. I have to make room in my jewelry box for the many new pieces that will be coming out in the new Initial Outfitters catalog in a couple of weeks! Can't wait!!!!

Monday, Monday, Monday

Spring has arrived on the calendar but not quite according to Mother Nature.  It wasn't exactly cold today but not warm either.
The necklaces and earrings I wore today are an odd gold bead combination.  The gold cuff watch was a find on Dawn, Gina & my trip to Ft. Collins last year at Christmas.

First day of spring!

Today is the official first day of spring!!!!!

So...in honor of the great occasion (and to reinforce my belief that it'll be warm enough for sandals soon), I had to dig out the orange polish for my toes and my toe ring!

Won't be long and I can dig out the many pair of sandals I have! Woo Hoo!!

Silver choker, silver & lapis earrings and a longer silver chain was my choice today.

Long drive home...

Today I said goodbye to my sister and her family and started my long drive home from Dickinson.  I battled a head-wind the entire 300 miles to Billings.  I wasn't so sure they hadn't moved Billings! :)

The choice today was a long silver chain with the "swirling cross" pendant and big "swirl" earrings!  I love the earrings!

no idea...3/9-3/16

I didn't manage to take any photos of jewelry during this time...I can't even say why.  I just got out of the habit I guess!

March Madness Monday...

Turquoise and silver today...dark turquoise top, silver bangles, turquoise and silver necklace & turquoise earrings.  Glad that that dark tealy blue is a good color for me...its always good to like the colors that look good on us!

Had a wonderful conference call tonight for Initial Outfitters...it's a weekly occurance and each one just gets better!  Great information and ideas for success!  I am so happy with my new business choice!

Lazy Sunday....

Today was kind of a lazy day...I did my taxes, laundry, worked for a couple of hours, notarized two titles, and a few other things! Relaxing...right?

I'm also a bit behind on my posting so I'm going to post this and then go backwards and get caught back up.

It's getting harder to pick jewelry...I still have quite a few to choose from but it is getting tougher to decide what to wear.  The pendant I strung on this basic chain is one that actually started out as a "charm" on a purse I bought several years ago.  It fell off the purse and I decided it looked cool as a pendant.  Recycling!  The earrings go with just about anything.

Spring-like Saturday

I'm back-tracking now on my posts...it's actually the 6th of March and I am behind in my posting (imagine that?)  I have taken all the photos of the jewelry I've worn but just haven't managed to get my entries made here.

This necklace is one of those that changes colors depending upon what you put with it..I had purples on today so it looked more along those lines.  If you put it with black or gray, it looks totally different.  Almost a chameleon...a perfect addition in a jewelry wardrobe.

TGIF!

It was a long week at work...don't mind working in the office alone but it does get lonely after a few days!  :)

Green & chocolate...

Chocolate pearls, green pearls, chocolate hammered earrings, and green stone ring.  I LOVE this necklace...can't wait to wear it again!

Holy Moly...it's March!

It is so hard to believe it's March already!  I picked out a bracelet today that I don't ever wear when I have to use a laptop computer.  The magnet in the clasp is very strong and has wiped out at least one laptop battery.  The pin was a Christmas gift from my sister Bert and the pendant is one I earned as a hostess of a jewelry party
