It had been so nice for the last week or so, that we all got lulled into a false sense of winter. Happens most every January but of course that came to a screeching halt this morning! The high temperature today was reached long before noon! I'm very thankful on days like these that I get to work inside where it's warm.
I picked browns today for my colors (had to coordinate with my new Ryka shoes...which I LOVE!!). The earrings were purchased from ebay, the pendant from my favorite shopping channel and the bracelet was a gift.
A challenge from my friend Dawn was my original inspiration for attempting a blog about jewelry (I have so much of it)...

Catching up....
I seem to be running behind (as usual I suppose) and haven't gotten my last three posts done. So...I made it my job today to catch up on lots of things! Some business things need finishing, a load of two of laundry, and I'm sure any number of other things.
I got my posts caught up but no jewelry today at all.

Body active...brain dead...
This has always been my thought process regarding Middle School aged kids. Today was spent helping at Wind River Middle School's wrestling tournament. Some moments with the kids certainly reinforced that thought! The WR boys were so helpful however...doing whatever we asked without any question...very politely as well. It was a great day!
Took a ride to Lander with Dad & Mom this evening to check out a place Dad has to deliver some hay. It's a good think he has nerves of steel...I'm a good driver but I don't think I'd be nervy enough to try some of the places Dad puts that big yellow truck! Took them out to supper at the Shoshone Rose Casino's restaurant...OMG the burger was amazing! I ate too much but it was worth it!

Thank Goodness it's Friday!
This week seemed to be long but it also flew by. Does that make sense? I was very busy and fairly productive but there were moments when it didn't feel like I'd accomplished anything! I guess it was one of those weeks that felt like I just ran in circles...thus the circle theme of my jewelry today! The earrings and bracelet are from my Initial Outfitters business and the pendant is one I have had in my collection for a while.

Great time was had by all at Olivia's!
Thanks to Olivia for hosting a very fun and successful Initial Outfitter's party tonight! Lots of laughter, shopping, eating (Stephanie made great treats). What a wonderful evening!

I'm a total dork...I'm behind in my postings and to be honest with you...I have NO idea what jewelry I wore on Wednesday the 27th (I'm posting this on Sunday the 30th). I came home and was tired and forgot to take a photo of what I had on.

Greeple day...
Today if you work in the Main Hall of Central Wyoming College, you might have noticed that almost everyone was wearing either green or purple. Krissy & I were talking and couldn't decide if we should call it a Pureen Day or a Greeple Day...we decided that Greeple sounded better!
My jewelry today was a necklace strung by my 9 y/o friend Grace. We had a "girls night" and made jewelry earlier this year. Dawn (Grace's Mom), my friend Gina, Grace & I spent the evening being creative and laughing about goofy things. It was great fun. Grace picked the brightly colored beads out of the box (they once were a necklace that I bought in Houston) along with some stones and some faux-pearls. Pretty creative use of random beading supplies.
The earrings were a gift from my friend Tracy Ammann several years ago and the charm bracelet has charms on it from XiPi, trips to NYC and Boston, shoes & purses (imagine that), and lots of other random things on it.

Memory like an elephant...
Today I wore a necklace that I must have purchased about 1994 when I first started working in the schools. The focal piece is an elephant...it always reminds me to try to have the memory of an elephant when remembering the positive things that have happened (and to have a bit of C.R.S. with the bad things).
We had a great XiPi sorority meeting tonight...talked about some of the wonderful service projects we've done in the past...helping families at Christmas, very successful fundraisers to benefit the Tough Enough Cancer Fund here locally, and donations to many other worthwhile organizations. Thanks to all the ladies who have worked so hard on all these projects. We did some brainstorming as to the next projects we are going to tackle...be watching for updates.

It's a beautiful day in Fremont County!
I miss hearing that on the radio every day...no matter how ugly the weather or how absolutely gorgeous day! Today was a truly pretty day...sunny and relatively warm (I actually opened the sunroof at lunch)
It's all about chocolate today...since I'm working on being good and not eating too much chocolate, I chose instead to wear my chocolate copper pieces from Initial Outfitters and pair them with some jewelry I had from other sources.

Charmed....
I picked a simple silver collar style necklace I've had for a long time and added one of the Initial Outfitters charms to it...a simple but cute necklace! I may have to try the birthstone charms on some simple silver hoops.

Red and silver....
Today's necklace choice is one that I originally purchased with my sister Bert in mind. We decided (after I'd been shopping) to do a "girls trip" for a sisters Christmas gift...so...I gained another piece of jewerly.

Meetings...meetings...meetings
Today was a day of meetings...all productive though so it's not such a bad thing.
This necklace is one that was a gift from Jody (I have several of these in my stash...she always picks a new and interesting shape or material!)

Today's choice was my 75" turquoise chip necklace along with one of the new monogramed pendant in a mottled greenish/turquoise and tan color.

Gorgeous January day
Today was a BEAUTIFUL day in Riverton! Almost 50 degrees...sunny...blue skies (for most of the day). Amazing how different the weather can be from one week to the next.
I think last night's exercise in sorting through my jewelry stash was a good idea. It sure made getting ready for work a little easier today...I didn't have to try to remember if I'd worn this jewelry or not.
The necklace I wore today is one I received as a gift from my friend Jody, the bracelet I bought several years ago (can't remember where) and the earrings are part of another necklace/earring set. The ring is part of a three-ring stackable set that I can't wear all together...my fingers are just too short! :)

I know I'm behind in my postings...I misplaced the cord to my camera so I haven't been able to download my pictures. I will get it done and get caught up this week.
Today I decided that it would be a good thing to print out the entries in the blog so I could sort out my jewelry....I'm having a tough time remembering what I've actually worn and not worn. Some of the things I thought I had worn, I hadn't and vice versa. So...I now have emptied out my jewelry box, sorted it and repacked it. Should make things easier.
Olive green jasper beads, old pearls, and a repurposed earring made up my necklace today. This is a necklace I made a couple of years ago using some new jasper beads, a broken string of pearls, and an old earring from the 50's that was part of a Vintage lot of jewelry I bought on ebay. I have several other pieces in that lot to do something with...some are broken and need repaired or repurposed and others are ready to wear.
The watch is one I bought last Christmas on a fun shopping trip with Dawn and Gina. I dont' wear it too often because the dangling charms seem to be in the way all the time.

Silver & Black
I wore a pair of earrings today that I bought on ebay about 4 years ago and have never worn. I bought an entire "lot" of different dangly earrings. I've worn several of the different ones that came in that shipment but the black pair just never made it to my ears. The black necklace and earrings were part of some I received from Initial Outfitters (but have been discontinued)...substantial but not overly heavy. I love them...they'll go with ANYTHING!

A New Definition of "Jewelry"
Well...I was diligently working on some financial reports at work today when I heard Susan (my friend and co-worker) start to snicker, then snort, then laugh out loud. I had to get up and go see what was so funny...she'd finally noticed what happens to the three "naked people" on the Rising Promise fountain located near our office. One of the ladies is kind of crouching in her stance, and had developed icy "nipple" rings.
My choices for jewelry today were not nearly as cold as the "lady" near my office.

Lots and lots of ones on the calendar today!
Today was also the day that of my great-uncle's funeral...why is it that families don't manage to get together unless it's for a funeral? My goal this year is to organize a family gathering for the extended family that can be centered around something fun...swimming, BBQ, etc...rather than something sad. I'd like to see people crying from laughter rather than sadness. Albert's infectious smile will be greatly missed.
As a compliment to my black & gray outfit, I picked silver earrings, silver chain bracelet, and gray/black pearls.

Reason behind this challenge....
Today's jewelry choice was definately an example of the reasoning behind Dawn's challenge to me...a necklace I've had for two or three years and have NEVER worn!

Relaxing Sunday
It was a cold and blustery January Sunday (not that I really expect anything different for January). The pendant I picked today reminds me of gardening...it has a floral look to it. I'm always very ready for the little green shoots to start peeking up through the ground in the spring. It'll be here soon!

No "catchy" title today
Not that I have used many "catchy" titles in this blog but I am drawing a blank. It's been a tough week for many people here in Fremont County, several very well-known members of our community passed away and will leave big holes in the tapestry that makes up our community. My thoughts go out to their families and friends. Be sure that you take the time to tell your loved ones how much they mean to you on a regular basis. Life changes quickly.
On the note of friends and family, most of my jewelry choices today were gifts from both family and friends over the years. The bracelet was a gift from my mom...one of those that she found from Avon. The earrings were a birthday gift from my good friend Becky: dolphins with abalone shell and silver. The necklace/pendant is one that I found at our annual "Day In The Park" event one hot July day: blister pearl pendant and freshwater pearl and silver necklace.

True Grit
My friends Jody& Ted went to the movie True Grit with me tonight after work. I was hesitant to go watch a "remake" of a classic movie starring the Duke but I must admit that the Coen Brothers did a wonderful job of telling the story! It was amazing!
Ok...back to my jewelry...I'm going to have to sit down this weekend and go back through the blog so I can rearrange my jewelry. I'm starting to have a tough time remembering if I've worn things or not. I know I accidentally wore a necklace twice...when I was looking back through yesterday I caught the same one in the mix twice. OOPS! Guess I know my project for this weekend!
Today's choices were a multi-gemstone bracelet I bought last February (had to look it up online yesterday because I lost a stone in it), a turquoise & silver pendant, and some silver oblong dangly earrings.

It's warming up...was a balmy 15 degrees today!
It's a heat wave! Won't be long and I can start wearing sandals again! Woo Hoo!
My good friend and hairdresser, Kyla, and I went to dinner tonight at the casino and then did a little gambling. We played for a couple of hours and I only donated $10 (not too bad I suppose). I'd have been much happier if I had come out $10 ahead but all in all it was pretty cheap entertainment for a couple of hours. It never ceases to amaze me how many people don't look like they are having fun when they are out there...much much too serious!

BRRRRRR!!!
It's been a normal January weather pattern in Riverton this past week...cold, cold, and more cold. I'm thankful every night for my new electric blanket (and so is Dazzle the Dachshund).
Since its the start of a new year, I picked new items from my Initial Outfitters stash of jewels for today: monogrammed earrings & pendant and a new braided cuff bracelet.

Hi ho...hi ho...it's back to work we go...
I've been spoiled the last week and a half with having days off from my "normal 8-5" job at the CWC Founation. Most of the days of vacation, I did spend SOME time at Wild West doing some work, so I wasn't a total slacker! Had a great time seeing my sister and her family as well!
For my first day of work in 2011, I picked a new midnight freshwater pearl necklace with an engraved pendant (both from Initial Outfitters), some "swirly" silver earrings and a silver chain bracelet.
